Matagalpa, Esteli; it's all about coffee, cigars and agricultural products
Day 1
Up from Granada to the province of Matagalpa in the northern part of the country. We pause to observe petroglyphs in Chagüitillo, including lunch at the village. Continue our trip to beautiful coffee farm, in central Nicaragua. Welcome and detailed explanations about coffee.
Night in a cozy cottage.
Day 2
Full day on the property to walk in the fields leading to a waterfall, harvest season, visit the orchard, explanation about butterflies in the country's largest reserve, it is also possible to do some horseback riding.
Another night at the farm.
Day 3
Head out to Esteli, and explanation about the process of drying and roasting coffee. In Esteli you can see many frescoes and a traditional cigar workshop run by a passionate woman!
Night in a 2-star hotel in Esteli.
Day 4
We leave you either in Managua, Granada or Leon, to continue your journey.

- Ideal trip for the dry season (November – April) and particularly during the cateo season (November – January)
- A bit of a walk but we make great sightseeing stops.
Princing
- € 280 per person, for a group of 4 people, all breakfast included, 4 meals, private transfer, entrance fees.

Ideas
- If you spend an extra night in Esteli you can explore the Somoto canyon, close to Honduras, and take advantage of your position by exploring more of the region. You can also taste some "rosquillas", small donuts made on a wood oven, a Nicaraguansfavourite...
- With more time, many of our customers would have enjoy a 3rd night in La Sombra
- There's a chance of doing sports in La Sombra or climbing the Peñas Blancas massif
- Also close to Esteli are the natural reserves of Tisey and Miraflor interesting for lovers of rural life and also to see the variety of orchids. There are rustic hotel in case you want to spend the night there.
